his heart on christmas...

after opening 10 individually wrapped tootsie rolls on christmas morning i finally got to a little blue box with the following note....

we spent christmas 2009 with the bush bunch and we loved it...christmas eve was spent with the entire extended family and papa bush's accordion versions of every christmas song there ever was....it was quite entertaining....the whole gang got into it and everyone played their own little instruments.... bells.... drums.... you name it, oh boy, we had it...and we weren't half bad either! christmas day was quiet and spent just with the padres and siblings....the usual christmas stuff...opening presents...late breakfast, the boys playing with remote control everything...and hanging out until the evening when we went and saw the new sherlock holmes...good movie.

billy and i feel truly blessed to be able to spend our holidays with friends and family....it helps us to remember the true meaning behind the season and makes our christmas that much more fulfilling...so merry christmas to all of our fellow bloggers and we hope you have a very happy new years too!

timi&leslie...

so i bought the diaper bag today....my mother in law showed me the cutest convertible diaper bags....the designer is timi&leslie...i love them...

the inside is the cutest too but it won't let me capture that image so check it out.... the bag comes with a bottle tote, a changing pad, and a dirty clothes bag and the inside is vinyl for easy cleaning...i can't wait til wednesday when my new baggy comes in!!! they have lots of other designs too so if you don't like this one you can check them all out by just googling timi&leslie...

oh christmas tree....

i set up the tree ahead of schedule this year...which goes against all of my ethics...but i guess you could say the nesting kicked in and so i wanted it all set up and ready to go when i walked in the door from california....so one week before thanksgiving...up went the tree....

i loved walking into our home from vacation and seeing all of the decorations all set up and waiting for me....but....billy and i have noticed an oddity with our tree this year....it took me 4 strands of lights to clothe our entire tree....and we noticed 3 sets are on a blinking schedule....sort of....we turn the tree on...and it randomly decides which section to let blink...sometimes it will be the bottom....sometimes the second third and sometimes just the middle....never do all three sections blink together....and it only chooses one section a day to allow this oddity to occur in....i have searched that tree...trying to locate the sole light that is allowing this atrocity to occur, to no avail....i can not locate that dumb little blinker....so every time i plug in our tree it's like it laughs at me....i sit there staring at it waiting to see which section it chose today....sometimes it likes to mess with my head and take an extra long time in between blinks...just to make me think maybe today i won my little battle with our christmas tree....and then about three hours after being plugged in....my little tree will give up its fight and stop blinking all together....the lights will shine so pretty and bright and i don't have to feel like i'm going to rip every single bulb off that tree individually....patience is the key with our tree this year....maybe next year i'll find that stupid bulb....

bump update....

today we had our first appointment in our third trimester...wow. so we are two thirds there which is absolutely amazing to me...and a little sad because i know this trimester will be the quickest with the holidays blazing up on us....i am sure that won't keep me from complaining every day in january though haha....

the baby is measuring a little ahead of the due date again so we will see where he lands!! everything is looking good and billy and i are sooo excited!

the boy doesn't like those ultrasounds too much anymore :) he either looks straight on or only gives us the back of his head so getting that cute profile shot is pretty much out of the question anymore....oh and the doc says the baby is head down and there is a good chance he will stay that way...please stay that way baby bush!!! :)

the backyard....

our labor day excursions included a makeover on our backyard...which was very needed....it was pretty much just dead grass and dirt trails left behind from our beloved lyric....billy's padres came down for a quick weekend visit and helped us rebuild our yard! they were awesome and so hard working....i felt really bad my little pregnant self watching everyone do the hard work and heavy lifting but they were all troopers! billy has been trying to nurse our yard back to life for a couple weeks and it is doing fairly well...although probably won't be completely recovered until next year....

so the project this weekend included a flower bed, a garden area, a chiminea, some pavers and a sprinkler system! and we got a whole lot done....so a special thank you to momma and papa bush because they did an amazing job and we really appreciated all of their help....so here are some pictures of our newest updates...

fall weather....

does anyone else just love this wonderful, cool fall weather we have begun!? i'm looking forward to tonight...home made pizza and an artichoke enjoyed in our new backyard next to a warm chiminea fire.... mmmm end of summer beginning of fall nights....i'm lovin' it....

as football season sets in upon us i can't help but feel the ting of excitement in the air, the smell of chili cook offs and hot dog tailgates....we are so excited for our utes to kick butt this year!!! and i am even more excited to purchase our little guys first utah garb...because you know he'll be a ute from day one!!! go utes!!!

love my hubby....and its more and more apparent every day that i made the right decision with this one...we have grown together...not apart over the last three years and i am loving more and more the man that he is becoming....

announcing....

baby #1...due february 3rd!!! we are so excited to finally be able to share our news with everyone! billy and i found out that we are expecting our first little one about 7 weeks ago...and it's been quite difficult to keep the news underwraps...so just so that everyone knows...we wanted to post a little note on our blog!

although we were trying we were still very surprised by our little newbie...i took the test honestly expecting a negative result but was very caught off guard when the extra little line showed up!

since billy didn't even know i was taking the test...he was pretty surprised himself when he came home to an "i love daddy" bib!

we had our second ultrasound today and everything looks great with our little one...you could see the make out of its little face and the hands and feet were flailing away! it's little heart beat looks really strong and the doc looked very pleased with how everything was moving along, and we are definitely excited and relieved to know everything is looking good! we measured 11 weeks and 1 day today!

here is a little view of our little one....sorry about the quality...it's a little hard to transfer from paper to the computer!

billy and i feel so blessed and humbled and absolutely can't wait until next month when we find out if it's going to be a little me or a little him! :) we shall see!

because it is june and june means summer....things we love about summer...

blog stalking again this morning....found a fun new band....cotton jones....kind of old school...actually really quite old school....say sixties/seventies era(just in sound)....but i kinda like them....

and i wouldn't mind having her fun little outfit!

disco roller wedding madness...

last weekend i flew out on a quick trip to california to attend my cousin's wedding in santa barbara....

nothin' better then squishing your toes in the sand on your wedding day...

don't they just make the cutest little family ever! and billy went disco roller skating to celebrate a good friend's birthday....

so much fun...but i am getting sick of this being apart stuff...

so bb and i have been very busy with our previously discussed art project :) and have a few fun items to post...mostly because my mother asked me to...and a little so you can laugh along with us ;)...don't mind that mine looks a little like a five year old's attempt...hehe maybe when we have kids i can hang my art and pass it off as theirs when i am too embarrassed to admit it's mine!

billy has been a lot more diligent with this project...he has completed three already and is working on his fourth...i on the other hand scribbled out two in two days and...haven't really touched the little studio of ours since... :/

on a side note though, just so you don't think i am a complete waste of creative space :) my mother in law teresa lent me her beautiful sewing machine! it was her first when she was 17 and i am super excited to be able to play around on it! i have been wanting one for a while now...and so hopefully i will be able to really get creative with it!
